As part of caring for our communities, our crews work to both clean up vacant lots and alleys, and improve or create property for community use. We organize more than 450 clean ups and 40 beautifcation projects per year for the communities we serve. Working with city and county agencies, our crews and local volunteers plant gardens, create pocket parks, restore property, and plant trees and flowers.
We organize regular Community Clean up Days with the help of hundreds of volunteers, community groups, and the Los Angeles Police Department. Each event is unique to the need of that community.
In addition, the Gang Alternatives Program has been awarded several grants for Community beautifcation projects that help improve public spaces in the communities we serve.
Recent projects include:
Lenna's Corner Pocket Park - Wilmington
Harbor Gateway Cal Pals Park
Boyle Heights Evergreen Cemetary Running Track
