Graffiti Abatement and Community Clean UpGAP community clean up crews eliminate over six million square feet of graffiti annually and remove nearly a million pounds of bulky items from streets, alleys, and vacant lots. GAP crew supervisors provide more than 20,000 person hours of court referral supervision each year. Plus, each court referral requires substantial intake, monitoring, and reporting paperwork by GAP office staff.
EOP ProgramGAP has teamed up with the Office of Community Beautification , which established the Educational Outreach Program funded by the City of Los Angeles Public Works. A 30 minute assembly style program for 4th and 5th grade students has been developed at no cost to the schools. The anti-graffiti assembly consists of a colorful Power Point presentation, music, and a lively discussion on gangs, graffiti, vandalism, and the consequences of risky behavior. Students receive pencils, rulers, magnets, a workbook, and a brochure to take home.
