Funding InformationThe Gang Alternatives Program (GAP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1986 with a mission to eliminate the bases of gang membership by having a generation of young people say "No" to gangs. The components of the GAP program are: a school-based youth curriculum, a court approved parent education program, an extensive graffiti abatement program, and outreach and referral service. Since 1986, GAP has grown from 3 to 49 employees. It is supported through funds from the County of Los Angeles, the City of Los Angeles, US Department of Justice, competitive local government grants, corporations, and private donations. How You Can Contibute to GAP
There are several ways for you to contrigute to GAP. In most instances your contribution is tax deductible, and GAP will supply you with a receipt for contributions over $20. Remember that for every $100 donated, a child can receive the complete gang prevention program. You can contribute online through PayPal. Click the button to the left to make your contribution. It's fast, easy, and convenient. You can designate GAP as your recipient in your company's charitable contribution program and specify it in your United Way pledge.
